Programming Microsoft Visual C# .NET

his illustration was done for the Microsoft Press book, “Programming Microsoft Visual C# .NET”. It shows a cityscape composed of hardware components (such as a processor high-rise, a microchip warehouse, a capacitor silo, a transistor water tower, and LED streetlights) that are incarnations of important new .NET technologies (such as CLR, the .NET Framework, ASP .NET, GDI+, etc). The importance of the use of SOAP for platform independent communication and encapsulation was stressed by the inclusion of the SOAP interstate. This illustration was accomplished in Freehand, and was used as decorative art on the part title spreads.
